The family of Caleb D. Moore has confirmed that the 35-year-old Springville, Tennessee man, who had been missing since mid-December 2025, was found deceased in an abandoned well on his own property in Henry County. The discovery has brought a heartbreaking end to months of uncertainty, leaving loved ones grieving while seeking answers about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Moore was last reported missing on December 29, prompting an extensive search effort by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies utilized drones, conducted ground searches, and canvassed the area, but no significant leads were found at the time. For nearly three months, his whereabouts remained unknown.
The case took a critical turn on March 13, when Moore’s family organized a volunteer search. Cadaver dogs led searchers to an abandoned well located on his property. Due to the depth and narrow structure of the shaft, specialized equipment, including heavy machinery, was required to safely access the site. The Madison County Special Operations Unit assisted in the recovery effort, working over several days before reaching the bottom on March 15.
The remains were transported to the medical examiner’s office, where DNA testing conducted on March 17 confirmed Moore’s identity.
