Two people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following an ATV crash Friday night in Jackson County.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the 19000 block of 142nd Road near the Jefferson County line.
Authorities say a man from Valley Falls and a woman from McLouth were traveling westbound on an ATV when the vehicle struck a dog. The impact caused the driver to lose control, leading the ATV to roll over.
Both individuals sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital in Topeka for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
